Hello welcome to my channel I am Mauro Ink and today we will be watching a video more than interesting We will be watching a video that will talk about fishing a river but not in what is reading water punctually, but in the areas and parts that make up a river
It is essential to know this when going out to fish rivers, since it will allow us to have better fishing and take more advantage of the different sections of the river This video is punctually for those people who fish in rivers and who like to fish the river Will serve them both to vade it and to understand them up here, also , I'm going to leave you a link to go to another video called water reading which is essential when going out fishing for rivers Once this clarification is done and before we get into the video, I want to thank all those people who subscribed to the channel
There are people from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Uruguay, Mexico I want to thank you very much for being part of the channel and I want to thank very much also the comments that are leaving video after video because they serve me a lot to make the next videos I also want to invite you all to indicate to me what topics you would like us to talk about that you would like to talk about in the next videos? That's what you can do right down here in the comments, leave there a small comment saying what you'd like us to talk about and that way we're going to make the videos together And we're going to see topics that I may not have touched on previous videos and that you if you find them very interesting for example if you like the fishing trip , if there's any place you'd like us to see of patagonia or if you'd like to analyze some kind of fishing
As long as it's fly there's no problem Because currently I'm just going to go fly fishing and traditional fly fishing Now if there's some other kind of fishing you like we can get to find out something and put it inside the videos, but it's not going to be a topic that I know or can dig deeper out of that or anything else you want to talk about fly fishing welcome be once done this now I'm going to invite you all to watch the next video
Welcome back now we will get into today's theme which is mainly river fishing, areas and parts of the river First of all let's clarify that a river: always, always when fishing it we have to keep in mind that what is shown on the surface is usually what goes under the river Precisely by the underwater part What do I mean by this? if we suddenly walk a river, we're going to see parts where it looks like the water comes in a certain way rises or generates a run and then goes down again That's indicating to us that quite possibly under that current that rises
There is a stone that precisely at the bottom of the river is that way It comes in the smooth or flat part, rises by the stone that is here by means of the force of the current and goes back down after the stone This is also reflected on the surface of the river, so to take into account whenever we see a river that what is shown on the surface is usually also what happens below the surface of the river So to keep in mind when walking if we see that there are parts where there is a water jump be careful because quite possibly there is a stone there is a stone Once this clarification is made to observe the top of the river we will get into the areas or parts of the river
There are eight parts that make up a river and we will detail each of them and I will show you photographs in which we show each of these places The first part that we will analyze of the river or the first area of the river that we are going to analyze are going to be: The Slides this is the part of the river where it is shallower What do I mean by this? You will notice that there are streams of water and the river is made faster and there is less depth These places are usually full of stones, obviously where the river runs is done faster in that part There is greater oxygenation of the water precisely by the jumps that glues the water and by the amount of stones it passes through and the shallow depth it has
These parts are very fast and there are usually trout in these sectors not many, but there is usually in these places you have to look in the parts where it is not so fast the water slide to be able to throw and make the fly derive correctly and that it also gives us the time so that the trout can see that drifting fly and you can go to look for this is achieved , usually, or at the top of the slide or at the bottom It is already a little deeper and from there then transforms into another part of the river or in another area These places are ideal because there is a lot of oxygen, there is a lot of food running down the river and above all there is a lot of boiling in the water which allows trout , if you find any stones to stay behind this flow of water, find food very easily
Then to take into account the first area or part of the river Second part or area of a river: The Run This part is usually deeper than the slides and the flow of water runs slower It is not as fast the water when running around this area as it is in the slide As we will see in the photograph can analyze that the water is going slower , the river is deeper in this part and there are also many trout there Because usually in these parts is the food that is swept away by the slide and is deposited in this part of the river
To take into account this part when we travel the river Third part that we will find in a river: The Headwater What do we call headboard? To that part after the slide where a natural gutter that originates the river is formed, where it flows to that slide That gutter is usually a deep place where the water falls from the slide and forms naturally This place is ideal for trout for two main reasons, the first for the amount of food that falls in that place and the second for how oxygenated the water is since it comes crawling very quickly among the stones, it has been oxygenating from up there and when the water is very oxygenated in this place
What will make trout have a good flow of oxygen and a lot of food in that area will also provide you with a good place or shelter This gutter will also allow them to be protected, since being deep and being just below the water flow are sheltered They are protected so they stay there eating with oxygenated water Fourth part that we can find in a river : Water Gaskets What does this mean? it has usually happened to them or possibly happened to them when they are running along a river, which are parts where the river opens, separates and two parallel streams of water form
Obviously there is one that goes slower and the other that keeps going fast It is the highest flow of water That goes faster, usually it is the ideal food source for trout also of oxygen and obviously drags a lot of insects that go down that stream to where it rejoins with the other part of the river That place or that run is called dirty current
Precisely because it is the one that drags the most insects and food, along with oxygen on this side of the river The fifth part or area that we will find in a river are going to be: Obstacles This is very common in rivers What do I mean by obstacles? to large stones or large logs also that cut or cross the water stream These places are ideal for trout habitat as they usually take refuge behind these places where food passes them very close and they don't have to go too hard to go looking for it
In these places there are many rocks and many sticks that usually behind these are trout A take into account when going fishing, usually if we see that the river current comes and there is some large rock it is quite possible that behind that rock is this place where the trout lives Those places will find them or they will know how to identify them because they are backwaters of water that form behind the rock They are places where water runs or circulates in a slower way than the rest of the current That is precisely due to the rock that slows the stream of water and makes behind the rock much slower
To take into account this point because usually always behind the rocks there are trout Sixth part that we will find in a river: Las Curvas this is very common in any river Usually the riverbed or river current comes in a certain way and there are places in the river where a curve is generated , at these points usually, the force of the current and the centrifugal force of the water towards it lateral, where it will rotate, causes the lower part of the river to wear out That generates gutters and give depth to the curves That also makes the water circulate much faster below the surface and transports a lot of oxygen and food
These places are ideal for trout habitat because that's where they find the big trout, a lot of food I say the big trout, because usually in these places are the big trout by the forces they have to make to stay within this very strong current that is below the curves of the rivers Those curves will identify them as for example in the photo that we will see below Notice that here the river comes in a certain way and there bends Where the river bends there on the almost lateral surface where the river hits, is where this gutter is going to form, down there surely there is some trout
Because there is a lot of food and a lot of oxygen that transports the water by spinning sharply on any river Seventh place or area that we will find a river: El PozĂłn This place is almost, would I say typical in any fishing river where you are typical trout because? because they are those places where trout take refuge in summer above all, which is when it is hotter, precisely deep in the pot They are those waterways or very deep water flows in which trout usually in hot spots, take refuge well down in those wells is where the biggest trout are located But it is usually very difficult to reach those depths or reach those depths or reach those depths or reach look them down, for that what we're going to need are going to be sinking lines
In these wells they will usually find themselves feeding down because the river is dragging a whole amount of food and oxygen to these places where the water is calmer, but the river gets much deeper The water runs slower also in these wells and the food usually decants down There is where the trout will be found eating Eighth area of a river : The PozĂłn Exit or also called flat This place is usually found after the pozĂłn
They are places where, suddenly, the depth of the well becomes less and less and goes down the depth of the river until it transforms back into a slide These places also inhabit trout, but there is usually, we will find smaller trout There are small trout feeding since the water flow is also lower, there is less depth and the water temperature is warmer So to take into account this place also because not only the wells we have to fish them but also the flat or the back of the well or the end of the well In these places there are also trout since also up there comes the food and oxygenated water
Then transform, as I said recently, into a new slide The river gets lower and lower and faster that becomes a slide again and the cycle begins Very well now I wanted to touch the subject of a correct return of the fish or the correct way to return the fish to the water It is important to clarify this point because sometimes we return the fish and not always the fish lives This is precisely because that the return or the way to return the fish was not the right
There are certain points to keep in mind when returning the fish to the water The first point and not less is the fact of handling it as little as possible You have to try to touch the fish as little as possible If we are going to touch it when taking the hook and returning it to the water try to do it in the water Holding it with the palm of the hand without squeezing it , do not squeeze the fish do not squeeze the fish
Because that way you can hurt him and you can kill him Then ideally, it's having his hand outstretched the fish leaning holding on to the tail or holding on to the tail and from there if you unlock the hook and so on All in the water Try to do all this in the water also to take into account once you remove the fish , don't put your fingers in your guts because that kills you
Another point to keep in mind when returning fish is the fact that I do not tire the fish to the extreme What do I mean by this? not tired until we get inflated or totally exhausted that can't recover and we can't release him Let's not get to that point If we tire him out, but not tire him out the end Don't have an hour fighting and then once he's almost floating, dead, bring him in
Let's not get to that point because surely that fish is not going to live another important point when it comes to returning a fish to the water, is trying to use the hook without rebaba What do I mean by this? They saw that the hooks usually bring a slice that is that part as a kind of little prick that brings so that precisely once the fish is nailed it can not be unlocked When fly fishing the ideal is to squeeze that slice with a clamp and take it out that way when we remove the fish, that we will take it out as long as we have the tension of the line permanently , the moment we are loosened the line very possibly the hook will come out
But it's just another challenge when it comes to going fishing Once we have the fish in our hands and we're able to release it we just turn the hook out of the mouth and the hook comes out without clout While if you have the slice we have to, grab the fish, get it out of the water, make force even put tweezers inside your mouth so you can get it out on the ground with the back and obviously all this hurts the fish and it also generates fish time out of the water Then ideally fishing with hook without overstop That will make it much easier also to release the fish
It is much faster to release Also to keep in mind that once we have the fish, if we see that the fish has a hard time recovering or does not start quickly in the water, the ideal is to give it a time to recover This time will be to put it against the current The fish against the current and move it slowly Not fast
But slowly back and forth this is going to be what it's going to generate is going to be that the water enters through the mouth and comes out of the guts It's also going to allow it to oxygenate and that way it can be recovered To take this point into account because many times we take the fish out, we put them in the water we start to move them so it's not the right way
We have to do it slowly so that the water slowly enters the mouth of the fish and goes out through the guts that way we will allow the fish to oxygenate and be able to recover And finally and fundamentally do not hit the fish What do I mean by this? I have seen many videos in which fishermen take out the fish have them hanging or suddenly they do not let go or take the hook and fall out of the water I am talking and the fish start to hit That deteriorates the health of the fish and obviously will generate that the recovery of the fish is very difficult and that the fish can also die once we return it
Or it may not be returned because we can't return it because we're dying out of the water Then what you have to try to avoid is that the fish gets hit and take as much care as possible when handling it out of the water Even when returning it try to do it in a very gentle way Taking care of the health of the fish so that the recovery is faster and that way the fish comes out swimming again quickly , without having too much time and without making it suffer too well We got to the end of this video I hope you liked that you found it interesting
